Location: 235080 Ryan Road Rocky View, AB T1X 0K3 Salary: $29.50 per hour Vacancy: 2 Start date: As soon as possible Employment groups: Indigenous people, Newcomers to Canada, Veterans, Visible minorities, Youth Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 40 hours per week Employment Conditions: Day, Evening, Morning Job requirements: Languages: English Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years Tasks: - Constructing, assembling, and installing frameworks for residential homes, including walls, floors, and roofs, ensuring precision and structural integrity. - Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout, material requirements, and project timelines for framing and foundation tasks. Measuring, cutting, and assembling wood, steel, or other materials using hand and power tools to create the framework for houses. - Assisting in setting up formwork and framing structures required for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and stability of foundation support systems. Installing joists, beams, rafters, and other structural components in compliance with building codes, engineering designs, and safety regulations. - Collaborating with other construction professionals, including concrete workers, electricians, plumbers, and general contractors, to ensure smooth project workflow and timely completion. - Conducting regular inspections of framing and foundation work to ensure quality, precision, and structural integrity throughout the construction process. - Troubleshooting and making on-site adjustments to frameworks or structures as needed to address unforeseen issues or changes in project specifications. - Maintaining a safe and organized work environment by adhering to safety protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and conducting regular safety checks on equipment and tools. - Supervising and mentoring junior carpenters or apprentices, providing guidance on proper framing techniques, tool use, and safety practices. - Managing and maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and safely stored at the end of each workday. - Reporting project progress to supervisors or project managers, ensuring that all work is completed according to project deadlines and client specifications.
