Plan menus ensuring food meets premium quality standards. . Create new recipes. . Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff in the kitchen including cooks, and other kitchen workers. . Instruct and train cooks in specialized preparation, cooking, garnishing, handling and presentation of food. . Demonstrate new cooking techniques and the use of new equipment to cooking staff. . Prepare and cook meals and specialized dishes for customers with specific food allergies or intolerances. . Ensure all food handling and preparation follow strict safety and hygiene protocols. . Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items needed. . Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. . Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize restaurant profitability. . Requisition food and kitchen supplies. . Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
