Plan menus ensuring food meets premium quality standards. . Create new recipes. . Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff in the kitchen including cooks, and other kitchen workers. . Instruct and train cooks in specialized preparation, cooking, garnishing, handling and presentation of food. . Demonstrate new cooking techniques and the use of new equipment to cooking staff. . Prepare and cook meals and specialized dishes for customers with specific food allergies or intolerances. . Ensure all food handling and preparation follow strict safety and hygiene protocols. . Estimate amounts and costs of supplies and food items needed. . Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory. . Analyze operating costs and other data to optimize restaurant profitability. . Requisition food and kitchen supplies. . Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs. Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children . Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity . Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits .
