Education: No degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: 1 year to 2 years in the dairy farm industry.
Personal Suitability: Team player, organized.
Tasks: Co-ordinate, assign and supervise the work of specialized livestock workers, farm machinery operators, livestock labourers; Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly; Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs; Supervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal health and welfare; Monitoring animal health; Diagnose livestock health issues; Treat livestock health issues; Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies; Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures; Ensure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followed; Maintain quality control and production records; Maintain livestock performance records; Maintain inventory and order materials as required; May perform general farm duties; Handling animals; Monitor the calving process; Formulate feeding program; Direct farm feed inventory activities; Organize tasks to accomplish the work; Weeding; May operate and repair digital technology and communication tools and equipment, such as robotic milking systems and global positioning systems (GPS); Train staff; Carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs; Select livestock for sale; Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
