Job details Hourly Rate: $43.50/hour 40 hours per Week Permanent employment Full time Day, Early Morning, Evening, Morning, Night, Overtime, Weekend Starts as soon as possible Benefits: Financial benefits 2 vacancies Job requirements for the position Languages English Education No degree, certificate or diploma Experience Min 2 years Work site environment At heights Dusty Hot Noisy Work setting Commercial Industrial Institutional Residential Urban area Various locations Responsibilities Tasks Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements Instruct apprentices Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints Clean and prepare surfaces Cure freshly plastered surfaces Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts and electrical outlets Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools Prepare wall and ceiling layouts Utilize laser alignment system Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications Additional information Bending, crouching, kneeling Hand-eye co-ordination Handling heavy loads Large workload Manual dexterity Overtime required Physically demanding Repetitive tasks Sound discrimination Standing for extended periods Tight deadlines Walking Work under pressure Weight handling Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Own tools/equipment Hard hat Safety glasses/goggles Steel-toed safety boots Tools Personal suitability Dependability Flexibility Reliability Benefits Financial benefits Bonus Employment groups This employer promotes equal employment opportunities for all job applicants, including thoseself-identifying as a member of these groups: Indigenous people, Persons with disabilities,Newcomers to Canada, Older workers, Veterans, Visible minorities, Youth Who can apply to this job?
