Smitty’s is one of Canada’s largest all-day family restaurant chains, operating from coast to
coast. Almost all our restaurants are fully licensed, and a majority have separate lounges to
accommodate teams, sports fans, and the happy hour crowd.

Smitty’s Kenaston, registered business name Kenaston Hospitality Corporation, is now seeking a Kitchen Manager to support the growing business demand. We have an immediate opening for team-oriented individuals.

Terms of Employment: Full-time; permanent position; working hours: 35-40 hours per week

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or related training

Experience: 3 years or more experience as a chef

Shifts:
• Day/Evening/Night shifts
• Monday to Friday/Weekends/Holidays

Requirements:
• Must have a valid Food Handler’s Certificate

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform kitchen audits
• Assist in the opening of new locations
• Train all BOH positions
• Troubleshoot/assist with maintaining proper food costing
• Coach and train all staff on proper takeout and delivery practices
• Ongoing food development
• Menu changes and additions
• Development of new menu items
• Promotions (Burger Week, Poutine Week, etc.)
• Food quality improvements
• Feature and LTO development
• Work in conjunction with Smitty’s Canada regional chef on new programs & recipe
• Participation in training videos
• Ensure all locations are following Smitty’s Standards
• Facilitate ongoing training and rollout of new menus each quarter
• Prep, portion, and stock food items and other necessary supplies
• Prepare specified food in a timely manner using safe food-handling methods
• Cook food items by grilling, frying, and sauteing to prescribed recipes and standards
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs
