Job Description
Yuugi Izakaya located at 49 Baldwin Street Toronto Ontario, is looking for a Sous Chef specializing in Japanese Izakaya-style dishes for $34.10 per hour for 30.0 hours per week.
Qualifications;
- Must have minimum of three years or more of experience in preparing and cooking Japanese Izakaya-style cuisine (tapas) and sushi
- Creativity and knife skills in decorating and presentation of Izakaya-style Japanese dishes
- Ability to oversee and manage kitchen operations
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic oral English is required.
- Secondary School diploma required
Job Duties
• Prepare and cook various Japanese Izakaya-style tapas dishes and sushi.
• Establish work schedules and procedures.
• Supervise and train cooks and kitchen staff in their relevant duties of preparation, cooking and handling of food.
• Estimate food consumption and costs and order ingredients and supplies
• Maintain inventory and records of kitchen stock, errors, sales and wastage.
• Ensure that the food service facility meets all necessary standards and regulations such as sanitary and safety guidelines
• Assist head chef in selection of kitchen staff
• Assist head chef in planning restaurant menus and determine related food costs.
